A Personal Touch.

Weddings • Baby Namings • Creative Rituals • Funerals

Judaism has a rich tradition of honoring important milestones in a person’s life. Whether it be getting married and starting your Jewish life together, bringing your child into the covenant or mourning the loss of a loved one, marking these important moments in your life with Jewish rituals helps bring meaning to the moment and transforms them from ordinary to holy. It is my absolute honor to help you find a way to blend our rich tradition with details that help make the ceremony personal to you. I welcome the opportunity to work with you at any of these moments in your life.

I also invite you to contact me if you’d like to honor a momentous occasion that does not have a traditional ritual associated with it. Retirement, graduation, moving on after a divorce, starting to drive as well as the beginning or end of menstruation are all deserving of a ritual. I have experience creating rituals for these times and would be happy to work with you to create a ceremony specific to you.

  • WEDDINGS

    Weddings   ---------

Mazel Tov on your upcoming wedding! It is an exciting time for you, and I hope you are enjoying all the preparations. If you are not a member of a synagogue or if your rabbi is unavailable to officiate on your special day, I would love an opportunity to work with you. My philosophy is simple: make your wedding meaningful for you as a unique couple while helping you prepare for your marriage. In order to achieve both goals, I will plan to meet with you four times before the wedding so that when we are under the Chuppah together, we have a relationship that goes beyond couple and officiant. During our meetings, we will talk about what you want for your wedding ceremony itself and I will help you begin thinking about what it takes to have a strong marriage and how you will create your Jewish life together. In addition to wedding ceremonies, including LGBTQ weddings, I welcome the chance to celebrate vow renewals. I am happy to officiate wherever you decide to have your ceremony and I look forward to speaking with you.

  • CREATIVE RITUALS

    Creative Rituals

There are many times in our lives which deserve to be honored but that have no traditional Jewish ritual. Events such as retirement, moving on after divorce, healing after abuse, learning to drive and the beginning or end of menstruation should be celebrated in a Jewish way. If you wish to create a ceremony for such an occasion or for another special milestone, it would be my pleasure to help you find a way.

  • BABY NAMINGS

    Baby Namings

Mazel Tov on the birth of your baby! If you would like to have a Brit Milah ceremony for your son or welcome your new daughter into the covenant, it would be my pleasure to help you create a ceremony personal to you, which can be done at your home or a place meaningful to your family.

  • FUNERALS

    Funerals

As Ecclesiastes wrote, “there is a season for everything in life … a time to be born and a time to die.” At the time of a funeral, I strive to create a service which brings honor to your loved one’s life and memory while bringing comfort to those who are in the circle of mourning and who gather to remember.
